Big Up There!

I took this picture on a Sunday afternoon in September. My vantage point was just above Phuentsholing, Bhutan, and I was looking out over the Indian border town of Jaigaon in North Bengal. That big river flowing in the distance is the River Torsa. And that cloud? Well, it rained for a week where we live, some miles south of Jaigaon and Phuentsholing.

This is my entry for Skywatch Friday. Be sure to check out other people's skies across the globe at http://skyley.blogspot.in/ like I enjoy doing!!

Cold Weather Games

Cold weather evenings here are touched with melancholy. It becomes dark so early, and the evening is so short. The day does a quick-fade, and spirits dip even as we get a thrill looking at all the play of light in the Western sky.

Look, SkyWalker!

Talk about walking into the sunset! This man here is helping to pull down the scaffolding that formed a structure that housed the image of the goddess during Kali Puja. The little white dot in the sky is Venus, setting.
Location: Mal Bazar, Dooars, India.
